Dr. Christine Spence is a Clinical Psychologist licensed to practice in the State of New York and Florida. She works with people from all races, ethnicity and cultural backgrounds. She obtained her doctorate degree (Psy.D) from California School of Professional Psychology. Dr. Spence has worked in a variety of institutions: Prisons, Schools, Hospitals, Group Homes, Assisted Living, Nursing Homes, and Private Practice. In addition, to working in a variety of institutions Dr. Spence has served both the young and the aged.

Dr. Spence is a Cognitive Behavioral Psychologist. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy has received empirical support for its efficacy in the treatment of a variety of clinical and non-clinical problems including but not limited to mood disorders and anxiety disorder.  Dr. Spence’s  approach aims to influence dysfunctional emotions, behaviors and cognitions through a goal-oriented, systemic procedure.  She identifies and monitors thoughts, assumptions, beliefs and behaviors that are related and accompany debilitating negative emotions that are inaccurate or simply unhelpful. 

Dr. Spence's goal as a Cognitive Behavioral Psychologist is to create a supportive environment in which clients can explore their emotional needs and overcome barriers that limit them from reaching their full potential. She focuses on the “here and now” and symptom removal.  Dr. Spence's insight into client's strengths and weakness allows her the opportunity to model new behaviors, foster their development of healthier more constructive emotions, and help them obtain a refreshed outlook on life.  In a collaborative effort with the client, Dr. Spence is able to provide each individual with the necessary tools and guidance to overcome milestones which opens the door for an increase in self-esteem and potentially more satisfying relationships.

Dr. Spence employs an open-minded approach to clients wellness by taking into consideration the clients sexual identity, work life, family tradition, cultural and spiritual beliefs.  Her pleasant demeanor, collaborative working relationship, compassionate nature, honest straight forward interaction style, strict confidentiality, sense of humor which is employed to lighten the tension at times during the session and unique insight quickly made Dr. Spence a sought out psychologist.
